Please note our College Referrals will close for 2025 on Friday 12 December.
We will recommence processing referrals on Monday 2 February 2026.
For any referrals received prior to Monday, 15 December 2025, please email the Campus Coordinator as Cc’d in your receipt of referral or Renae.Graham@smyl.com.au
Please note, referrals must be received using the current Referral Application form provided in link below.
You are welcome to continue sending referrals to CollegeReferrals@smyl.com.au during this closure period, however note they will be unattended until the forementioned date.
Referrals
TO SMYL COLLEGE
Enrolment to SMYL Community College (the College) is by referral only. All students referred to the College have significant barriers to education. Teaching and learning processes are adjusted, and support services provided, to meet students’ needs. We follow a case management model in which every member of staff works in a team to find the right learning pathway for every student.

Referrals will only be accepted from Local Government Schools, Education Regional Office Participation and Engagement Teams, Youth Justice and Department of Child Protection.

Refer to referral documentation to assess eligibility.
Current school provide completed referral form, along with supporting document.
College Executive Assistant reviews application to determine eligibility and campus suitability.
Campus Coordinator completes screening process
Appointment may be made at Campus level to further assess application.
