Employment at SMYL CC

SMYL Community College is a challenging but immensely rewarding environment in which to work. It can be a lot of fun, very exciting and personally fulfilling. In its challenging moments it’s confronting and emotionally draining. However, staff support each other and work collaboratively to case manage students and find solutions to the range of issues they face.

Students at the College are expected to commit to their learning – and so are staff. The College provides many opportunities for all staff to develop their skills individually and as a group. Professional learning includes opportunities to develop the specific skills associated with your role and also focuses on skills that are needed to help us all to better understand and support the students with whom we are working.

Employment conditions at the College are underpinned by the Federal Awards Educational Services (Schools) General Award or Educational Services (Schools) Teachers Award and salaries are aligned to those being paid by the WA Department of Education. As a not for profit organisation, SMYL can offer its employees an Employee Benefit program that provides a salary supplement.

Please do not hesitate to ring the College to speak to the Head of Teaching & Learning, Head of Student Support Services or Head of Corporate Services to get a better feel for what we do and what it might be like to work with us.
